The 120mm caliber towed mortar GM-120 is designed to destroy enemy manpower, light armor, motor vehicles, firing positions and fortifications. It is used for direct firing support of brigade and regiment level units. The mortar GM-120 is designed according to the classic scheme and includes: 2-wheeled turret, 14.5 caliber smooth barrel, support legs with barrel lifting mechanism, support plate and optical target device. A special device against double charging is installed at the bottom of the barrel. It is possible to fire both Soviet and NATO standard 120 mm mines from the mortar.
