Portable voiveless bi-caliber mortar GNM-60 is designed to carry out silent operations by units operating under reconnaissance-sabotage or asymmetric tactics. Shotgun mines of 40, 60 and 82 mm caliber can be fired from the mortar.
GNM-60 shooting principle differs from the classic type of mortar. The detonation of the discharged charge takes place in a special closed chamber in the tail of the mine. A special piston secures the mine from the barrel. Due to the weight and dimensions of the mortar, it can be transported and used for combat by one person.
